Ottolenghi Sicily Vase 02 King

The Sicily Vase 02 - Otto King Fish is one of four unique vases from the Sicily collection; a creative collaboration between celebrated chef Yotam Ottolenghi and his good friend, artist Ivo Bisignano.

The result led to four exuberant hand-painted ceramic vases, inspired by Sicily and the duo's journey of nature to table. 

"In Sicily, where I grew up, you eat at the kitchen table while enjoying the view of the colourful balconies with their magnificent flowers", says Ivo Bisignano. The collection captures Ottolenghi's exuberant cooking style and is simultaneously an ode to the sun, colours and passion of Sicily. 

Designer Bisignano has given these Sicily vases a slightly surreal twist based on ancient legends. These hand-painted vases are honest, expressive, striking, cheerful and colourful, the colours and passion of Bisignano's birthplace.

The collection is based on the Testa di Moro, Sicilian hand painted ceramic pots in the shape of crowned heads that adorn Italian balconies. Combined with the Ottolenghi exuberance and decorated with colourful spots and brush strokes in an eclectic colour palette , the vases are a cheerful ode to a distinctly Sicilian aesthetic.
